Eyetech Optometrists take OSO

Earlier this month the team at Eyetech had the pleasure of staying at the RACV Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast for the Orthokeratology Society of Oceania conference. Over three days we were lucky enough to explore topics of complex OrthoKeratology fitting for high myopia and hyperopia, new myopia management options for children and adults, and speciality contact lens fitting with leading experts from across Australia and overseas. We also had the opportunity to delve into emerging therapeutic options available for treating dry eyes in contact lens wearers. The information was provided through informative lectures and interactive workshops, allowing collaborative discussions and problem solving with our colleagues.

The targeted workshops did a deep dive on the forces at play with orthokeratology lenses, which tied in nicely to the conference theme of Star Wars.

Speaking of Star Wars, the Gala dinner was themed “The Force” and the costumes did not disappoint (see below).

A huge thank you to the OSO team for bringing everything together and the incredible speakers who passed on their expertise. Events like these are not only educational but also highly motivating and inspiring, as we have some incredible colleagues who do amazing work to further improve the field of optometry.
