Our Story

Founded by Russell Lowe on Grattan Street in 1991, Eyetech has proudly delivered eye care to the community of Carlton and beyond. Eyetech has been dedicated to excellence in eye care — and was among the first practices in Australia to prescribe orthokeratology lenses for myopia management.

In 2014, Jessica Chi became practice owner, working alongside Russell until his retirement in 2021 — the same year Eyetech moved to its current home on Lygon Street, opening a new chapter for the practice.

Victor Liu joined the team in 2021, followed by Jamie Atkinson in 2024. Today, our three optometrists work collaboratively with practice manager Ross Liddell and our experienced dispensing team to deliver personalised, high-quality eye care tailored to each patient.

Eyetech is widely recognised for its advanced provision of specialty contact lenses for a broad range of needs—including keratoconus, post-surgical and post-trauma cases, myopia control, high prescriptions, paediatric care, and sports-related vision correction. We also take pride in offering a curated selection of beautiful, unique eyewear. Our frames are individually selected to suit your personal style, because we believe your eye care and eyewear should be as individual as you are.
